This past weekend I spent a lovely morning with the hosts of the Manic Mommies podcast at an event hosted by Role Mommy at the Ritz in downtown NYC. One of the guests was Abby Pecoriello the author of Crafty Mama. She was demonstrating a great, easy to make scarf project which didn't require any sewing or glue. I thought that was pretty creative in itself.
But it got me thinking, we have so many supply shops at our fingertips - including the Team ESST members shops - but often don't know what to make with our kids.
I'd love to hear any ideas you have for crafting with kids in the comments, and hopefully we can start a series of ideas to post here on the blog.

My two daughters, 6 and 8 years old, love to do crafts. They like to pain wooden boxes and bird houses. They like to hand sew little pouches and pillows for their dolls. We collect leaves, sticks, pebbles, etc and make collages. We've made really cool "Magic Wands", but wrapping colored electrical tape around interestingly shaped sticks. They've made bookmarks and lots of things with beads. They also like to fingerknit.
In my non-supply shop - ennadoolf.etsy.com - I sell Corking Sets (aka Knitting Nancy or a variety of other names). My grandkids love them and they were a great introduction to knitting, which is what they are learning now. It's great to see kids creating!

What a fun idea. Nothing is off limits in my craft room for my nine year old granddaughter. We had a play date with some of her cousins and they made beautiful books.
