Get to Know...VintageCarolina

What is your Etsy shop name? How did you come up with that name?

My Etsy shop is Vintage Carolina at http://www.vintagecarolina.etsy.com/ Coming up with a name can be tricky. I wanted it to be distinct, to tell something about me as well as something about my shop. I sell vintage supplies and since I love this part of the country so much I decided to pay homage to the Carolinas.

What sort of crafting supplies do you sell?

I sell vintage lace, linens and sewing notions like buttons and patterns. I am a fiend for vintage ephemera, have a hard time letting go of anything paper, but I am finally destashing my sheet music, magazine illustrations and children’s books. Those are great for altered art projects. The non-vintage items that I sell are supplies for scrapbooking, card making and journaling. Such things as die cuts and tags.

Favorite website(s) aside from Etsy?

I think http://www.pandora.com/ is very neat. I also visit a lot of craft related blogs to read tutorials and pick up crafting tips. I have spent a sinful number of hours searching for my secret favorites on Ebay.

Do you craft yourself? If so, what do you like to make?

At one time or another I have done a little of everything… from needlepoint, sewing and knitting to decoupage and card making. MY favorite thing to do, though, is refinish and repurpose garage sale furniture.

Please tell us one thing that nobody would know about you.

I wish I could go back to the 1950's.

What is your favorite thing to make for dinner?

My family loves my chicken pie but I prefer pasta. Hmm… I need to check Etsy to see if anyone sells pesto!

What goals do you have for your shop over the next year?

I need to get a lot more items listed. Maintaining an Etsy shop is time consuming particularly when you have a regular job. I do plan to expand quite a lot.

If you sell on other venues, where else can we find your items?

I have sold antiques on Ebay and locally. My daughter and I are going to open an Etsy shop for our handmade items sometime very soon and you all will be the first to know!
