As supply sellers on Etsy each of our shops have stories of wonderful customers. We would like to take the time to recognize one of them today!
This creative artist is a wonderful customer of ESST member Buttonalia. First a little bit about Buttonalia. Her shop features original, unique, handmade ceramic buttons.
The customer of Buttonalia that we would like to recognize is Bnazar. Her handmade jewelry, magnets and accessories are made from new and recycled buttons. She describes her items as shabby-chic. They are not diamonds and gold, but each piece is carefully handmade by her and they make a fun, unique gift.
Bnazar purchased green ceramic buttons from Buttonalia and created this lovely Brooch: Hit of Glam Green Button Flower!
It has been fun sharing with you an item that has been created with supplies from Buttonalia. Please be sure to check out her shop and the other lovely creations that this wonderful customer of Buttonalia has crafted.

Get To Know - Beadtopiavintage
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
What is your Etsy shop name?
BEADTOPIAVINTAGE
How did you come up with that name?
For many years I sold under the name BEADTOPIA on ebay, but when I got to etsy it was already taken. So I wanted to emphasize the vintage aspect of my shop, which is probably 95% vintage, and my shop name represents that.
What sort of crafting supplies do you sell?
I love vintage everything that relates to jewelry and over the top creative people. So I usually have in stock beads, brass stampings and filigree, old parts for reuse and repurpose (they make excellent bases for new jewelry creations), plastics, clasps and one of a kind things.
Favorite website(s) aside from Etsy?
Craigslist, Facebook
Do you craft yourself? If so, what do you like to make?
I do. I started out by making jewelry and that is how I ended up buying out two old jewelry stores and suppliers. I love making runway style larger necklaces and artistic necklaces out of found and unusual objects.
Please tell us one thing that nobody would know about you.
I can be shy and I am also a semi professional singer.
What is your favorite thing to make for dinner?
Any healthy and non-fat item that I can make in my Rival slow cooker.
What goals do you have for your shop over the next year?
I would like to maintain the amount of sales I have. I really do not plan to expand much, as I have a pretty good balance of being able to put on items and fill the orders.
My next show is in March 2011.
Check my blog at beadtopiavintage.blogspot.com for updates.

Tutorial - How To Make A Sailor's Valentine With Shells And Dresden Trims
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
The Etsy Supply Street Team - ESST - is very lucky to have a very diversified group of sellers. Each seller brings a level of expertise to our team with their unique business backgrounds. I'm excited to share with you today the expertise of Amanda, of 32NorthSupplies. Her shop is filled with amazing Dresden trims from Germany, fancy fabric trims and other delightful finds. Today Amanda is sharing with us a wonderful tutorial on how to make a Sailor's Valentine with shells and Dresden trims.
Making sailor's valentines was a common craft in the early 19th century, practiced mainly by men on sailing ships at sea for months on end, as gifts for their sweethearts or mothers and sisters back home. You can continue the tradition with just a few readily available supplies and the design can be as simple or detailed as you choose to make it.
You'll need: a sturdy box (cigar, wooden, papier mache), scissors, seashells and glue. Foil paper trims and lace are optional. We're using a papier mache heart shaped box from Germany. We don't use glue guns, but prefer a quick drying glue like Alene's.
Keep your design simple and don't worry about perfection - no two shells are exactly alike and that makes them even more beautiful. When placing the shells, we work out from the center.
We've glued vintage lace to the base and trimmed it close to the box edge
A band of paper Dresden foil trim finishes that edge. We've also added a band of paper foil inside the box, to continue the design from outside.
A vintage brass stamping of an angel finishes the top.
For the papier mache heart boxes, please visit our website: 32DegreesN.com

I recently visited Teresa's Yarn 2 Spin blog and spent quite a bit of time there learning all sorts of interesting tidbits about her business. Yarn weights and measures have always been confusing to me, however, Teresa explained it so thoroughly and clearly! 1/8 and 2/20 finally makes sense to me! Please take a moment to visit her blog and see for yourself how to weigh and measure yarn!
