Get To Know - Memories Mosaic Supply
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
What is your shop name?
Memories Mosaic Supply
How did you come up with that name?
I started a mosaic business first and sold custom keepsake mosaics using my clients personal items such as old dishes, jewelry, marbles, medals, etc. so I just kept the name.
What sort of crafting supplies do you sell?
Primarily hand cut tiles from selected dishes, half cups and vases. I also sell focal tiles sets that my husband cuts for me.
Favorite website(s) aside from Etsy?
My favorite website would have to be Amazon because I love to read and find out what's new.
Do you craft yourself? If so, what do you like to make?
I love making my mosaics and have my shop on Etsy memoriesinmosaics. I started loving crafts from an early age because my mom was so crafty. She used to make most of my clothes and taught me how to sew and quilt. I started sewing some of my clothes by the time I was 12.
After I got married I wanted to decorate my own home and learned how to faux finish walls and furniture as well as sewing my own draperies and bedding. It was a lot of fun and the passion lasted for many years but now that I am older I like a smaller canvas to work with so I chose mosaics. Making a mosaic has the same process as decorating a room: design, balance, colors, textures, and accessories.
Please tell us one thing that nobody would know about you.
Many do not know that I have a set of 32 year old twins. A boy and a girl. My son is blue-eyed and blonde and my daughter is dark haired with deep brown eyes. It used to make me laugh when someone would ask me if they were identical.
What is your favorite thing to make for dinner?
I make chicken patties that taste like a Thanksgiving dinner. It is a recipe I came up with one night years ago and my husband and I love them. They are easy to make and there's enough for 2 seperate dinners so I get a break from cooking one night.
What goals do you have for your shop over the next year?
I hope to get my name out a little more in the Etsy community. I really just want to provide a quality product for a reasonable price.
I have a brand new blog that I started where I will be featuring various suppliers from Etsy Supply Street Team so I hope you will stop by. You could be my next feature.

Tutorial - Pelican And Flamingo Bird Templates
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
The Etsy Supply Street Team - ESST - is very lucky to have a very diversified group of sellers. Each seller brings a level of expertise to our team with their unique business backgrounds. I'm excited to share with you today the expertise of Amanda, of 32NorthSupplies. Her shop is filled with amazing Dresden trims from Germany, fancy fabric trims and other delightful finds. Today Amanda is sharing with us wonderful Pelican and Flamingo bird templates.
From My Garden to Yours: Pelican & Flamingo Bird Templates
This flamingo keeps watch over an ornamental garlic and a group of impatiens.
Spring is definitely in the air and, as we say goodbye to winter here in the southwest, I'm looking forward to spending more and more time in my garden. Blue skies and gentle breezes are hard to resist after being inside more than usual so far this year.
This guy belonged to my great-grandmother. She gave it to my mom and my mom let me have him.
Apart from my great-grandmother's garden gnome, my absolute favorite garden accessories are several vintage wooden flamingos on stakes and one lone pelican. Over the years they've weathered beautifully to where you can see the grain of the wood. Neat patches of moss have replaced old paint, and the flamingos have faded from their original pink color.
I love how the wood grain is exposed.
Just in case you need a flamingo or pelican of your own, I've included a template below for you to download. Just click for the larger version and drag it into your desktop. You can enlarge or reduce as needed.
This pelican came off his stake, but sits quite nicely at the base of a newly planted king palm.
If you want to put one on a stake, simply drill a hole near the bottom. Using needle nose pliers bend a thick wire through the hole and squeeze it tight. You can always use one of the stake legs from a tomato cage if you're hard pressed for a thick enough wire.
A close up of how the stake is attached.
Here's the template:

Tutorial - How To Make A Copper Mantra Bracelet Utilizing A Letter And Number Jewelry Metal Stamping Set
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
Every once in awhile you stumble upon a great opportunity to partner with someone that leads to the unexpected. Over year ago via the internet I met Dotty from Totally Tutorials. She has a wonderful blog site that features tutorials made by many talented, creative artists.
I discovered that she was looking for supply sellers to offer supplies in exchange for a tutorial. I jumped at the opportunity. One of the exchanges Evie's Tool Emporium participated in was with Liv'nGood Jewelry. The supply that we gave in exchange was a Metal Stamping Set - 2mm 36 Piece Letters And Numbers. Jill created a how to make a copper mantra tutorial that is not only fun to watch, but also shows how a new tool can change the creative process!
If you are a supply seller or an artist please feel free to contact Dotty. She is wonderful to work with and I know your experience will be as positive as mine! A huge thank you to Jill for her tutorial!

Get To Know - Patterns And Such
By Michelle of Evie's Tool Emporium
What is your Etsy shop name?
My Etsy supplies shop is called Patterns And Such and can be found at PatternsAndSuch.etsy.com
How did you come up with that name?
It started with my sister giving me her collection of plastic canvas patterns as well as some knitting pattern booklets. I was also reorganizing my sewing/craft room and had supplies to destash. We knew the shop name couldn't just say 'patterns' in the name, thus we have 'patterns' and 'such'!
What sort of crafting supplies do you sell?
We *always* have patterns! As for other crafting supplies, we have a great assortment and it changes often. Currently you'll find sew-in labels and knitting needle holders among other things.
Favorite website(s) aside from Etsy?
I love http://www.ravelry.com/ for my knitting (and hopefully crochet once I learn that).
And e-Guiding.com has lots of resources for Girl Guide and Girl Scout leaders and I imagine much of it can also be used by teachers, home schoolers and others who work with children. I also volunteer on the website by formatting the information that is submitted to be added.
Do you craft yourself? If so, what do you like to make?
Yes I do! I will try most anything and will be learning to crochet for my 2011 New Year resolution.
My standards are knitting and sewing.
Last year I learned the art of fair isle knitting and the year before that I learned to knit socks. I designed a Work Sock Cup Cozy that was featured in Canadian House & Home magazine in December 2010.
My sewing recently has been in making purses as I was designing a purse pattern that is now available in my shop - www.etsy.com/listing/56896606 - I've called it the 'ennadoolf' after my handmade shop name. I also love sewing Barbie clothes and various other projects.
Please tell us one thing that nobody would know about you.
Hm, that's a tough one...I don't think anyone knows that I love licorice allsorts. And I do. MMmmm
What goals do you have for your shop over the next year?
To take advantage of as many sunny days as possible to photograph new patterns and supplies so that I can continue adding to my shop as often as I can - I like keeping lots of variety for your shopping enjoyment.
If you sell on other venues, where else can we find your items?
Visit my handmade shop - ennadoolf.etsy.com - for Quality Gifts for Men, Women, Teens and Children.
Visit my vintage shop - VintageAndSuch.etsy.com - for Vintage Military, Housewares, Collectibles & Treasures - and I've recently been adding vintage knitting patterns there as well.
